Lighthouse Assembly of God Building Policies
The purpose of this Building Policy is to establish guidelines for the use of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church and its facilities which will result in a positive and safe experience for all individuals who visit here. We strive to have a community-friendly atmosphere and an attitude of fairness. We will intentionally be Christ-like in all aspects of the guidelines set forth. As the Psalmist said, "Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice." Psalm 112:5
1. SAFETY GUIDELINES - Out of concern for the protection and safety of our children, please
teach and follow these guidelines:
A. Children are not allowed to run anywhere inside the church building or parking/driving area.
B. Young children are not allowed outside unless an adult is supervising them.
C. Parents are responsible to instruct and/or supervise their children on the use of the playground
equipment. Use of the playground equipment is limited to children who are 11 years old and younger.
Children may play only if there is adult supervision.
D. No children are allowed in the kitchen area unless specifically supervised by an adult.
E. Escape Route floor plans will be in all rooms to show the best routes to be taken
for emergency alerts.
F. Children and youth are not allowed in Multi-Purpose Room or Mezzanine without adult supervision.
It is the parents' responsibility to teach and train their children in these areas and make sure they are obeying them. When children attend without their parents, we ask Sunday school teachers and Children's ministry workers who know and minister to these children to teach and train them in the above areas. All of us can help monitor and reinforce these guidelines to keep our children safe and encourage their good behavior. We would like to join with the parents in helping them to teach their children to respect others and the property of others.
2. FACILITY GUIDELINES AND USE - Lighthouse Assembly of God sees the purpose of our
church facilities as a means to worship and serve God, and further the vision that God has given to this
congregation which is to provide a loving home for individuals to come to know and serve the Lord Jesus
Christ in our community and beyond.
A. User must contact the Administrative Secretary to schedule a room and provide the name and phone
number of the contact person. Church functions have first priority.
B. All non-church events need to have church member or regular attendee present in the building.
C. The building will be clean and ready for use before each event. Areas in the building used (including chairs, tables, and coffee pots) must be left in a neat, orderly fashion when you leave. Place all paper and trash in receptacles/dumpster provided. Remove all perishable food from the premises. Wash & dry all dishes, serving utensils, pans, etc. and return to place of origin. Leave refrigerator, stove, sinks, etc., clean. Remove all decorations, clothing, flowers, etc., that belong to you, from the building. Set-up, tear-down, and clean-up (including sweeping of floors) for all activities held in the church are the responsibility of the person in charge of the event. EXCEPTION: Any event scheduled for Sunday afternoon or evening that may require cleaning prior to the event will be done by the responsible party. There is no custodian on duty on Sundays. The responsible party will then not be required to do any cleanup after their event.
D. This facility was built on the Biblical Stewardship principle of giving in which money is freely given and trusts God to be our provider. It is this principle by which we offer our building for community-use purposes. In doing so, we will not allow forms of gambling, gaming, or raffle ticket sales in which money is donated with the possibility of ‘winning' a financial gain or prize. We encourage charitable giving to help support benevolent needs but without any type of gaming incentive.
E. No smoking inside or in close proximity to the church building.
F. No alcohol or illegal drugs permitted on church property or in any part of the facility.
G. Adult supervision is required when using kitchen facilities.
H. No food, beverages, or non-bottled water are allowed in the sanctuary. In all other fellowship areas, food and drink are allowed with adult supervision.
I. When media with an AV Tech. person is required, he/she may need to be compensated.
J. Inappropriate dancing or music is not permitted.
K. Use of the piano is allowed with permission. Please do not move the piano and/or sound equipment without consulting our Music Director.
L. Throwing of rice, bird seed or confetti for any occasion is prohibited anywhere in the facility or on
the grounds.
M. Youth groups must have adequate adult supervision for all events with one adult per ten students but
if more than one area of church being used, there should be no less than one adult per area.
N. When just the fellowship hall has been reserved, the closest restrooms may be used. All other rooms
and the sanctuary are considered "off-limits" and the doors to the foyer area will be kept locked.
O. Decorations are to be put up and taken down in a manner not destructive to church property. No tape, tacks, or pins of any kind can be applied to the walls or sound board. This includes wall decorations. Plasti-Tak may be used on wood and painted surfaces.
P. If church keys are supplied to a designated leader, they are not to be reproduced under any circumstances, nor the alarm code given out. If a key is lost, it must be reported immediately.
